Music I listen to

I pretty much like all music. I've played the piano since I was 5, so was exposed to everything from Classical to Rock to Blues. The only thing I'm not really fond of is twangy country or jazz.

Recently I've been driving my family crazy listening to Bon Jovi's Crush album at it's highest volume.

I will listen to Beethoven, and follow it up with ACDC. My taste is pretty eclectic.

I saw that Kenny Loggins passed away recently. This inspired me to get my old CD of his greatest hits out and re-live some old movie theme songs. I'd forgotten how many of those songs he had done--they were all chart toppers. And really, who of you does not love "House At Pooh Corner"? Makes me feel all gooey.

I love dramatic instrumental movie soundtracks. My current favorite is the soundtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I defy anyone to listen to the theme song without tapping their toes, patting their legs to the beat, and humming along. So dramatic and uplifting. Can't really do my work to it because I stop to dance around too much!

TV shows I watch

I don't watch that much TV, and when I do I HATE reality shows. Sorry!

Saving Grace and The Closer are two of my favorite cable shows. I Tivo them and watch when I have free time. "Saving Grace" is intriguing to me; very hard hitting and uncensored. I don't always like the main character--she's almost an anti-hero--but the show is very real and gritty.

I like all of the Law and Order series.

I tend to watch the SciFi channel.

I'm ready to TiVo Josh Jackson's series "The Fringe" in fall of 2008.

General Hospital is a guilty pleasure.

Blood Ties on Lifetime. But it was canceled. So I ran out and read all of the Tanya Huff "Blood" books.

Ghost Whisperer occassionally. I usually cry at the end, but so does my husband. LOL!

Dawson's Creek, of course! Selected episodes only. My daughters laugh at me and say that One Tree Hill is where it's at. Really, how unrealistic are they?!

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Northern California, and moved to Boise Idaho 10 years ago.

I'm a painter, and work with local designers, painting murals, floorcloths, and various accessories for their clients homes.

I'm a sports enthusiast. I played basketball, tennis, and soccer throughout school. I love hiking anywhere.
I'm a college football freak--I love it!

I read pretty much everything- Inquiring minds and all that! Amazon makes a fortune off of me.

I love to meet and talk to new people, I forget to lock my car and home doors, and I never water the plants. These are all criminal offenses, according to my husband.

I seem to be going through a phase where I'm addicted to Pacey and Joey of Dawson's Creek!

Places to visit before you turn 100

I'll add to this as I go. I'm looking at this as places that I want to see, and places I've been that YOU should see.

I must visit Ireland and Scotland. Castles, lockes, highlands, green rolling hills, and beautiful seas. I've always been fascinated with the history of these countries. Ancient Celtic lore. One of my goals in life. I suppose you might wonder why I don't mention England with this group? It's funny how we can carry hereditary feelings from long ago. My ancestry is almost all Scottish and Irish, and I can still hear my great grandfather ( a Scotsman) complaining about the English. My Mom, his granddaughter, always pointed out the ancient history of it all, but he still blustered. I still remember when my brother said that the English and Scots were all the same now. Oh MY! But funny how conditioning stays with you, and while Ireland and Scotland are the romaticized of the British Isles, and I might not name it, I would never be able to not visit England. Too much history, architecture, and culture to visit and learn about. And I'd have to see London and experience high tea.

YOU should visit Italy if you can. I spent two months there, and can you believe I thought I didn't want to go?! I fell in love. The country, the pace of life. The people. The history and culture. I saw the whole country, and Italy is so regional, that every different region (Tuscany, Rome, Venice, etc.) has a different feel, from the food to the people. It's almost like countries within a country. My personal favorite city was Florence. It could be because I'm an artist, but I could have roamed through the palazzos and museums for longer than the week I spent there. When I drove into Florence the panaramic view was so spectacular! But I found most every place I visited pretty spectacular. I could go on and on. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

My Grandmother is quite the world traveler, and I've been very green with envy at some of the places she has seen. She took a trip to New Zealand and Australia that was one of the highlights of her life, and since then I've so wanted to go. New Zealand with it's rugged scenery just sounded breathtaking, and Australia with it's wide diversity of topography from the Great Barrier Reef to the cities in the south. She said the people were just friendly and wonderful, and didn't even mind her being an American! Imagine that!! Jeez, I wish people would quit judging us all by our President?!image

Okay, for all of you who have not been to my home state...you really should visit California. The thing I love most about this state is it's great diversity. (No, not the people, but it is plenty diverse in that as well.) No, I'm referring to it's geography. It has something for everyone, and is just a beautiful place.
If you like ocean, you can enjoy the sunny, sandy beaches throughout Southern California. Or if you like rugged, cooler coastal climates, head to the northern part of the state. There are more National and State Parks than you can count , and they all have unique and great beauty. Rugged mountains are also found here. I personally grew up around Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta--both volcanoes that are still considered active--but southern and central California also boast mountainous country. Central California is beautiful. Big Sur is a part of the coast that should not be missed, along with the Monterey area. The rolling valleys through this area, where most of the produce/food industry is located, is gorgeous.
The cities of the state...well, San Francisco is my favorite city...I just love it! San Diego is a great city for tourists, and of course, Los Angeles. I have to admit here, I've only ever flown through LA on my way somewhere else. HUGE crowds of people don't interest me much, and while the climate is great, I've never really wanted to visit. But if you like the entertainment industry and all of the goodies surrounding it, as well as the Spanish influence throughout So. Cal, you should visit. The Sacramento area has it's own charm, and is really the gateway to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and the Lake Tahoe area. But there are so many places worth seeing, I would be here forever.
If you visit, or already live in California, you'll probably realize why so many fell in love with it, from the first Spanish settlers, and on from there. And let's not forget the native population--like a lot of the US, California has a rich Native American heritage.
So, enough of my personal travel guide--sorry if it sounds that way! Even though I no longer live there, it's still one of my favorite places to visit. Yes, it's getting crowded, but there is so much natural beauty that it's worth the time.

I love Johnny too but not with Olivia eck. Lst time I watched he was with Maxie and I actually liked them. Exactly! I have no idea it used to be where I hated to miss a minute of it and no i don't care to even watch it at all, it's so sad. It is getting so stupid and with where it is at now I don't think it is ever going to come back : ( I do want to see how Rebecca is related to Emily and what happened to her that should be interesting.

LOL I loved the video!! I cannot wait for football season to start.

    Talk to you soon,

    Heya BSBG,

Alright I will head straight over after this to check my mail.

He is SO sexy but I stopped watching months ago and I don't think I will go back to watching it unless there is a drastic change. I almost don't like anything about it anymore. They had a 30 second liason scene on Friday. How stupid!

Oh geez! I hope not because you know that he would stick around Sam and help her take care of the baby. I will be so mad if that happens. I think that GH is sinking. I really don't know how much longer it will be around. I wish it would just get better already.

LOL I don't watch that much television but I think that I have caught a couple of episodes of House but I have never seen NCIS maybe I will check that out sometime. I have seen a few episodes of True Blood I like it. LOL I can see that. Note to self don't watch true blood while eating. I am a very jumpy person so I probably shouldn't drink anything either I would probably spill it everywhere.

    I'll talk to you soon,
    BG ( I know I can't wait!!! EEEE Football!!!!)

    Reply from tamidako:

GH is dead...I was really hoping that Lucky would hook up with Rebecca, even if that almost seems a little incestuous. Lol. But even that story line is driving me batty. I'm at the point of thinking that the only decent actor/storyline has to do with Johnny...which is just sad. :( Of course, I've only watched spotty bits of episodes here and there...I get my info at the GH site and read episode recaps. It doesn't really inspire me to want to watch. How do you go from having one of the best soaps to having the worst, with the same characters, in one year? And honestly, at this point I don't see how Jason and Liz could ever be reunited again. And because they continue to make him this cold blooded guy who refuses to change his life, I like him less and less...no matter how sexy. Where does all this loyalty to Sonny come from? He knows where his priorities are...and it's really not with Jason. So this story line is getting old and tired as well. Have you ever noticed how stupid they make men on TV dramas?

Secretly, I wanted Liz and Patrick to get together...now wouldn't that have been fun?! Hehehehehe.

Now, enough of stupid soaps. Here's something really important to tide you over until Sept.

I can't get the smiley insert to work, but know that I'm cheering. ;)

    Be back soon,
